Setting the Bar: Decorating for a Small Gathering

Get inspired to invite a few of your neighbors and couple besties over for a cozy fall party. There’s no better season to relax, eat, drink and enjoy friendships. Set a table, bar or sideboard that celebrates the season.

Add pumpkins, gourds and feathers

This French Country sideboard looks proud and ready to serve drinks and desserts. The addition of white pumpkins in elevated crystal compotes adds visual prominence to the top. The fun juxtaposition of rust, white and brown feathers in an antique crockery adds a collect feel. The  envy-worthy combination of beautifully curated brown and white transferware, silver stemware and  French lamps make guests “ooo-and-ahh”.

Add large bouquets of wheat on a rustic farmhouse table

Set a table with a modern, rustic feel for the season. The French Country Farm Table with a vintage wood top is the perfect table for the relaxed gathering. The tablescape is elevated by using the “good china” but balanced out by the large bunches of wheat in fluted ceramic urns. The grand, weathered metal candelabra holds 15 candles creating a show-stopping centerpiece. The neutral stone color quilted placemats have a satin sheen adding  a little understated sparkle to the setting.

Add natural greens, seasonal flowers, and rustic log chargers

How fun would this table be to replicate for your fall gathering? Collect a variety of leaves and wheats and stems from your garden or a nearby meadow to create a low centerpiece of fall colors. End of season flowers and seed pods add texture and color with a few small pumpkins to create a pop of color. The rustic log chargers add texture and character from fall into the holidays. Casual craft beer paired in a simple stem glasses finish this perfect fall table.

Whether its drinks, appetizers or a great meal…nothing beats creating memories in a beautiful setting with friends.
